Last Circus City Tour Until October is June 29!
Discover Sarasota Tours announces the final date of the season for its Circus City Tour: Saturday, June 29, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM.
After the summer break, Circus City Tours will run Wednesdays and Saturdays on starting October 19, 2019. Ages 12+ | $3o per person + tax and fees.
Learn about the Circus Side of Sarasota with tour guide Bob Collins, visiting key city landmarks and hearing stories of the colorful cast of circus characters, showmen, and performers who called Sarasota home.
Meander through historic neighborhoods, learning about Sarasota’s singular circus history and viewing important places such as the Rosemary District, the Ringling Museum, Sarasota Jungle Gardens, Circus Arts Conservatory, and the Circus Ring of Fame on St. Armands Circle.
Tour guide Bob Collins began a love affair with the circus when he first visited Sarasota as a child, beginning in 1950. Since then, he has enjoyed a 44-year career in entertainment marketing, working for such shows as Ice Capades, World Wrestling Entertainment, and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. He also served on the board of the Circus Arts Conservatory, helping to preserve and promote the legacy of the circus in Sarasota. He enjoys showing people The Circus Side of Sarasota by conducting “Big Top” tours and giving lectures about our charming and historic “Circus City.”
All tours depart from the DST Trolley Depot located at 1826 Fourth Street—a cute 1930s cottage near downtown with a charming Vintage Sarasota gift shop.
