The Chillmobile Delivers!
Stuck Inside? Need a break and a bit of nostalgia? Call your neighbors and book The ChillMobile, a vintage 1979 Good Humor Ice Cream Truck and we will bring the tasty treats and fun to your home or neighborhood!
Tammy Hauser bought the ice cream truck (formerly known as B’s Cool Treats) in December from retiring owner Brenda Zook, and renamed it The ChillMobile for her Discover Sarasota Tours Trolley Cottage guests.
Intending to open this summer, the demand from homebound kids and frazzled moms from the virus situation convinced Tammy to build the website, and start promoting mobile ice cream sales sooner than she planned.
From running tours to selling ice cream, Tammy says that she learned everything she needed to know in the theater. “We are taught to roll with the punches, improvise, and make magic out of the resources we have,” she said. “So, this was one thing I could do to bring some fun and entertainment to our Sarasota community while we wait to reopen our tour company.”
Perfect for small groups who want to stay safe yet pine for the nostalgia and safety of childhood, The ChillMobile brings groovy smiles to faces young and old and gives us all an excuse to remember why community is so important especially now.
The ChillMobile plays original 1970s ice cream truck music while it sells locally-produced Good Humor novelty pops like Strawberry Shortcake, Orange Push Pops, Fudge Bars, Batman, Hello Kitty, Birthday Cake bars, Magnum Almond Bars, and Oreo Bars, Bomb Pops, Reese’s Dessert Cups and Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches—all for $3, as well as gourmet ice cream cups from Lickity Splits in Lakewood Ranch. Flavors include Mint Chip, Salted Caramel Truffle, Strawberry Swirl, Double Chocolate Brownie and French Vanilla which sell for $4.
$20 minimum order. Weekly appearances welcomed. All event fees are waived during the pandemic so call your neighbors and tell them we are coming!
